Great Place to Work: Not Just an Employee
Recently, Hixson announced that we have been named as a Great Place to Work® by the Great Place to Work Institute. This award was received based on the input on a confidential survey of Hixson’s 130 associates.
In the survey, 99% of Hixson’s associates agreed with this statement: “Management shows a sincere interest in me as a person, not just an employee.”
At Hixson, those who work for our firm are known as “associates,” not “employees.” It’s a subtle, but intentional difference. Here, our associates are part of something greater, and as such, are a significant part of our success story.
So how exactly does management show interest in our associates? We do it in multiple ways. For example:
- We encourage and value input from every member of every team. Many opportunities exist for associates to provide their feedback, suggestions, ideas, etc.
- We celebrate the achievements of our associates, whether the birth of a new baby, a promotion, or other life-changing moment.
- We celebrate WITH our associates, such as at our annual picnic or associate appreciation day.
