Hixson is committed to being a Great Place to Work for our associates! Some of the ways we do this is through policies such as Continuous Employment and practices such as Continuous Improvement.

Another way we realize our commitment is through our in-house learning organization known as Hixson University, aka “Hixson U.” In-place since 1990, and led by Hixson’s Continuing Education Council, Hixson University provides live, instructor-led educational events throughout the year. Instructors include both internal associates who have specialized subject knowledge and experience as well as highly qualified technical instructors from outside the firm. These instructors provide their knowledge under the umbrella of five separate colleges: professional development, leadership and management, fundamentals and organization, business skills, and even personal enrichment! With such a wide diversity of topics available, our associates have attended sessions ranging from the ins and outs of technical topics such as pneumatic conveying, galvanic corrosion, and grounding and bounding, to business-oriented classes on presenting with confidence and personal-interest subjects such as whitewater rafting and beermaking at home. And everything in-between!
